Disneyland FASTPASS Dining? Are you serious?!
Fastpass at 1:30, Lunch order ready at 2:00
You already know I'm a huge proponent for the Disneyland app, and IT'S ABOUT TO GET BETTER. Disney announced that they will soon be offering mobile ordering for your dining needs!!! For Annual Passholders it's already available! I may be miles from "home" but I still took this new experience for a test drive(FOR YOU, THE READERS!)
Disney World already has a feature like this, but I'm focusing on the NEW Disneyland version. Disney has dining establishments known as "Counter Service". This is where you wait in line, tell a cast member what you'd like to eat using a giant menu board, then walk up to a counter where your meal is being compiled and handed over to you.
Well....with MOBILE ORDERING you no longer have to wait in that line! It's like a dining FASTPASS! Rejoice (cue angels) in those moments NOT spent in line on a hot summer day(or any day for that matter). You now order on your phone, pay using your card on file, and show up during your designated time to a special location THUS avoiding the long line. So....let's walk through how this is done.
First log into your mobile app. You'll see a new format for the app as well. It's really not a big change, but a little surprising if you are "set" with the old setup. Under "My Plans" you'll see an "order food" tab. If you don't see it you can also push the "+" at the bottom, and select order food.
The next thing that will show up is a "Select an Arrival Window". This is where the choices begin!!!! You'll choose the location, AND the time you'd like to pick up your meal. Now....before we go any further........what are the locations? From Disney's website, let me elaborate here:
Disneyland Locations:
Bengal Barbecue, Galactic Grill, Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor, Hungry Bear Restaurant, Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe(HELLO, CAN YOU SAY RASPBERRY MACARON ON REPEAT?!?)
, and Red Rose Taverne.
California Adventure:
Award Weiners, Clarabelle's Hand-scooped Ice Cream, Cocina Cucamonga Mexican, Corn Dog Castle, Flo's V-8 Cafe, Lucky Fortune Cookery, Pacific Wharf Cafe, Paradise Garden Grill, and Smokejumpers Grill
Choose a time. Once you've selected a time, the menu pops up. Scroll on through all the tasty treats and make your selection. There are a couple REALLY COOL features here. First, the seasonal menu(which is always changing) is always listed as well. Second, many of the places have allergy friendly menus. Flo's V8 is the perfect example. If you want a dairy free meal....scroll down to the "dairy free" menu. It really is an AMAZING feature. You just add all your items from here. Once you are done, you select "View My Order". Your order summary will come up AND include any discounts you may be entitled to(AP discount). Then just select "Purchase". From there you'll be given your order details as well as directions on WHERE exactly to go to get your meal(it's usually a clearly marked window).
Now, once you've completed these simple steps you'll have avoided the crazy line and be back to your Disney exploring before to long. It really is amazing. I'd love to hear about your experience with this awesome new feature!!!! I've only used it for research, and all I want to do is go use it for real. Who's coming with me?
