All the Single Ladies (& Gents) Save More Time at Disney!
No FastPass,no problem. Single Rider at Disneyland & Disney World.
Going to Disney is something you do with family and friends, but have you ever thought about doing a “personal trip”? I’ve done it once while chaperoning a group of middle schoolers, and I enjoyed it. It’s nice to “do Disney” by yourself if you have the chance.
My favorite, of course is going with family! Sometimes when we go one of us must stay with the kid while the other person waits in line and goes on the ride. Disney offers FastPasses to cut down on wait times, and they also offer Rider Switch. But, our most utilized way to beat the crowds is SINGLE RIDER.
Single rider lines exist for those who are riding by themselves, or those willing to be split up from their group. Years ago the single rider line was the BEST way to do rides because no one knew about them, but times have changed. People will wait in the single rider line with their entire party in hopes that it will cut down their wait time. You are welcome to wait with your whole group, but Disney now posts signs stating that you WILL be separated from your group IF you choose to wait in the single rider line. I have noticed an increase in wait times for single rider on some rides. I’m all for decreasing my wait time, so if you’re willing to be separated from your group, come join the single rider line! However, I do get perturbed by those in the single rider line who get to the front and ask the CAST MEMBERS (park employee) if they can be put together on the ride (insert eye roll emoji). These people are trying to circumnavigate the purpose of SINGLE RIDER and slowing down the line trying to “strike a deal” with the cast member. HELLO!!! When did they learn that SINGLE rider means, come in this shorter line and ride with your GROUP? Anyway….I am about to share ALL of the rides at Disneyland and Disney World that offer the Single Rider option. I do this in hopes that you will be responsible with this information and not be part of the latter group. I want to see you in the single ride line! I want to wait with you! I’m even willing to allow wait times to go up (a little) all in the name of saving you and your family time. Please use this knowledge for good, and not evil. Because, if you DO use it for evil you can be assured that I will be right there in the line judging ALL of your life choices!Disney World
Disney World has clearly labeled Single Rider signs.
Magic Kingdom: No Single Rider lines available
Epcot: Test Track
Animal Kingdom: Expedition Everest
Hollywood Studios: Rock ‘N’ Rollercoaster (This one always seems to be long and full of “those people”.)
Disneyland
Disneyland Single Rider signs are popping up, but most of them are only utilized after talking to a cast member and getting a special “pass” with directions on how to access the Single Rider line.
Disneyland: Matterhorn, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Indiana Jones(They will occasionally delay this one for random reasons)
California Adventure: Grizzly River Run, Incredicoaster(enter the handicap entrance on Paradise Pier, it will save you a tiny hike), Goofy’s Sky School, Radiator Springs Racers(This one is sometimes just as long as the FastPass line. So many people utilize it with the right, and wrong intentions)
