Make the most of your Disney BIRTHDAY
A Disney birthday is better than a PLAIN birthday.
Each year I get a little bit older. Yes I know, it baffles me too!!! This year I had the BEST idea....I planned my little family vacation right next to girl's weekend with my mom. It was perfect. I spent 4 days with my family in the happiest place on earth, and then put them on an airplane, got my mom, and had Disney girl's weekend. Celebrating a birthday is unlike any other celebration. If you want a magical experience all about YOU....Disneyland is where it's at.
Going to Disneyland for your birthday is a special occasion in itself, but if you pair that with some of the Disney magic, it's even better. On your birthday(or even days before) stop by Main Street City Hall and pick up your FREE birthday button. This button will lead you to becoming a "special guest" while in Disneyland. It's super cute, and if you get it at City Hall the nice cast members write your name on it super fancy. Now, you can get the birthday button from almost all dining establishments, and even random cast members around the park. But....there is something extra special about heading to City Hall first and wearing it all day.
Once you have your button you MUST wear it! As you continue walking down Main Street heading for your favorite LAND you WILL be celebrated by passers by, and cast members. The Disney community is something special. If you are wearing a button, cast members will congratulate you and wish you a happy birthday. But, that's not all......other guests will wish you a happy birthday too. If you don't want attention on your birthday........what is wrong with you?!? Wear that button proud and take advantage of everyone celebrating you.
As you ride hop, or wander around receiving well wishes from others you may experience some extra magic. This is not a definite thing, but sometimes cast members will do special things for people celebrating. Who knows? You may not have to wait 45 minutes to ride Peter Pan's Flight. Eventually you'll get hungry. The best thing to do for your birthday is prebook a sit down meal. When you book online early, or when you check in you'll be asked if you're celebrating anything. This is the time to show off that birthday button proudly. Your host, your server, and anyone else you come in contact with will wish you happy birthday. Then...once you've enjoyed your delicious meal you get a FREE dessert! That's right, Disney creates special birthday desserts for guests. It is such a nice gesture and always delicious. While we dined at Goofy's Kitchen our server even gave me "extra wishes" on my cupcake(pictured above) by allowing me to blow out the candle twice. My son, who loves blowing out candles blew them out for me both times. Our server offered to light it again so I could blow it out, but I felt 2 times was enough.
By the end of the day you'll feel so celebrated that you will want to come back and do it again. Now, you could....if that's how you roll!!! Your birthday is your special day, and there is nothing better than receiving so many well wishes while being at the Happiest Place on Earth.
