The Carnival Horizon
Why did we choose Carnival?
We recently got back from an amazing family reunion cruise to the Carribean. I loved it, and mostly because I LOVE family time. I love being with my parents, siblings, and the littles that come along. We've wanted to go on a family cruise since our kids were babies, but we wanted it to be something they could enjoy and weren't "just along for the ride". When we decided it was finally time, there were a few things we considered....1: price, 2:destinations, 3:onboard experience for all members of the family. In the end we chose the Carnival Horizon because the price was right(Carnival is by far the cheapest Carribean cruise option), we loved the itinerary(most of us had been to all of the ports), and the onboard experience of the newest ship(newer ships are scheduled for later this year, and early 2020).
Things the Carnvial Horizon offers that we didn't have time for:
IMAX theater showing the newest releases
Serenity: Adults only retreat
Cloud 9 Spa
Chef's Table
Video Arcade
Sports Square
Things the Carnival Horizon offers that we took advantage of:
Dr. Seuss Waterworks waterpark: 2 "big kid" slides, dumping bucket, 2 small yellow slides, a kid "carwash"
Reflections Dining room with the most accomodating staff
Guy's Burger Joint was perfect for an afternoon lunch
Fun luxury, and discount shopping
Michaels craft experience
Lip Sync Battles
Onboard Brewery
Skybox Sports Bar where my family could watch college football
2 fun ocean water pools, and freshwater hot tubs that the kids could go in
Camp Ocean, where our Buddy wanted to move in. He loved it, and the staff was great.
Build a Bear OnBoard Workshop
Dr Seuss breakfast with characters
It was totally worth it. We always had something fun to do. The Hub app was a game changer, and we were so grateful for it. It kept us all informed on everyone's whereabouts and plans. I would take another Carnival cruise if they continue to offer this level of fun, especially for the very reasonable prices.
