Make Disneyland Days Easy & Enjoyable
Get the most out of your Disneyland days and STAY happy
We all do it. We envision our day at Disneyland with perfection. For me this day looks something like this.......perfect weather, short ride wait times, friendly people all around, my husband and I holding hands walking down main street while our son runs excitedly in front of us with his Mickey balloon, taking us to the carousel. (Well, it's my dream so yes he runs in front of us and I'm not worried about him being stolen.) You have a perfect day too, don't you? Have you tried living out your perfect day? Ya, it doesn't work. Disneyland is always busy nowadays, and wait times are inevitable. We also can't control those people around us. The parents threatening to leave if their kid doesn't behave(ya, right.....you paid for this magic) is always my favorite. I submit however that there IS A WAY to enjoy your time despite everything that can go wrong.
- Purchase MaxPass. This program was introduced in 2017, and at this time the price of $10 per person per day is worth every penny. There are so many benefits to MaxPass which you should totally check out here. For this post I will only say that MaxPass allows you to get and keep track of all of your Fast Passes on your phone. Genius!!!
- Stay at a nearby hotel.
Staying nearby gives you time to relax. Head back to the hotel, take a nap, and get some food in the middle of the day. When the park is at its busiest you can step away and recharge your batteries. This tips is what allows me to make it to closing every single time.
- Arrive Early.
If you get to the park at least 45 min. before opening you can be among the first into the park and can rush to those"popular" attractions before the line builds up. Book those mobile Fast Passes once you step in the park too.
- Make Dining Reservations.
What I'm saying here is that you NEED to stop and get out of the crowd while still staying in the park. I have found some overwhelming benefits to seated dining over quick service. You get free soda refills! You get A/C. The food is(usually) superior. And....it's one thing that will prevent you from getting HANGRY and messing with your magical day.
- Stay Late.
So many ride lines are so much shorter at night after the 1st parade(if it's the busy season). Parents with little kids who have been there all day don't want to stay any longer. But....if you're staying nearby and took a quick afternoon nap, you're ready to go all night. Also, keep an eye on the clock near closing. As long as you are in line at closing time you get on the ride!!!
