Table Service at Disneyland
Ranking Table Service Locations Around the Resort
I was recently perusing the list of dining establishments at Disneyland and thought to myself…sheesh I’ve been to almost all of these, I should rank them?!? That seems like the only natural thing to do, right? But I don’t want to rate just ANY Disney dining establishment…I want to focus on the “Table Service” dining. Quick service doesn’t speak to my soul (except for that tasty Bacon Mac & Cheese from the Cozy Cone). Table service dining is where it is at. It’s where I like to spend my food “budget”. I think it is where Disney does it best! Yes, I do think they are getting better, and veering away from JUST burgers and nuggets at the quick service locations, BUT the table service menus are always quality. Places like Plaza Inn have created amazing quick service dishes that allow people to select quality dishes in a cafeteria setup and then move to a table, but they are not considered table service. So, I’m here to break TABLE SERVICE down…ALL THE WAY. There are currently 19 table service locations at the Disneyland Resort. So, without further ado….
Haven’t Hit the List YET
Ballast Point, Catal Restaurant, Uva Bar
Bottom of my List
17. Naples Ristorante :
I feel like THE pizza place in Downtown Disney really doesn’t have to try too hard because people love pizza and will visit regardless. The pizza is good. Everything else is just average. The pizza isn’t anything special in the taste department. They do offer a large square shape pizza…. cool, but not cool enough.
16 La Brea Bakery Café:
You can get your food to go or sit down and eat it. Get it to go! There is no reason to waste precious Disney time here.
15 Blue Bayou:
This may shock most! Well, I don’t like eating in the dark. I’m also not a fan of paying exorbitant fees for a sandwich (looking at you Monte Cristo). I’m also not a fan of the seafood menu.
14 Café Orleans: Let me be completely real here…. This place
WOULD have been in my “top” had they kept the chicken gumbo on the menu. I love the bottomless Mint Juleps, and the
Garlic Fries….but I can’t justify making a reservation to go eat JUST fries. It’s a fun place to sit and people watch. Prices are okay, and better than Blue Bayou
but not worth wasting my time anymore.
Middle of the List
13 PCH Grill:
I’ve only visited for their character breakfast. It was okay. The characters are what give it a “middle of the list” ranking. Please check out my character dining article for more details.
12 River Belle Terrace:
This place is like having a southern barbeque. The food is good, and is displayed well, but it’s nothing special. The décor inside this place has every bit of southern charm you could want.
11 Splitsville:
I’ve only been to Splitsville in Florida, but I’m ranking it in the middle for California assuming the quality is still on point for bowling alley food. When we went, we didn’t bowl and truly enjoyed the food.
10 Goofy’s Kitchen:
Better than PCH Grill, but still nothing amazing. A friend recently tried out their dinner, and I’m looking forward to her review to see if dinner is better than breakfast.
9 Carnation Café:
This is a fun nostalgic place to go and have a meal. I’ve enjoyed every meal period here. It’s right on Main Street which is entertaining for people watching. They serve what I would consider classic 50’s-60’s fare.
8 Tortilla Jo’s:
Great Mexican food in Downtown Disney. So much better than the quick service Mexican food of Rancho del Zolcalo inside Disneyland. Bonus is that they offer table side guacamole if you’re in to that.
Top of My List
7 Wine Country Trattoria:
I love this seemly underrated place. They serve great pasta dishes in a breezy, relaxing location right along the California Adventure walkway.
6 Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen:
This place in Downtown Disney is so much fun, and worth making a reservation for. They often have walk up availability in the middle of the day, but I recommend getting the evening reservation for some tasty New Orleans food. Especially the BEIGNETS!!!
5 Steak House 55:
If you have no desire to enter the parks, you MUST at least check out this place. The food is top notch. The décor is classical memorabilia worth checking out. And…. I may not be a steak girl, but I come here for the 24 layer chocolate cake. It is a sight to behold.
4 Lamplight Lounge:
I’m not a drinker, but I love the views and experience at this place that it makes it to the top of my list. The first time I visited I had a good dish, the second time I shared a burger with my mom. It was great and rivaled my favorite burger in Disneyland.
3 Carthay Circle:
Bam! The best burger…ever. The best décor! The service! It’s all amazing. My one suggestion…. make a reservation for lunch and get the burger. They don’t serve it at dinner time. Also, do it with the World of Color package…. best viewing for the show.
2 Storytellers Café:
I’ve only eaten breakfast at this place, but it was THAT GOOD that it made the top of the list. Please read my review.
1 Napa Rose:
This place is number one based on both their Princess dining breakfast AND their dinner Chef’s Table. Both are highly coveted and worth calling in/making reservations right at 60 days. Quality, service, atmosphere, and the food are all impeccable. You can check out my review of the breakfast soon.
Now please, don’t be alarmed if your “favorite” is at the bottom of my list. I’m just the “AUTHORITY” according to me. I’m also not saying that my “bottom of the list” is bad. I’m just saying it’s not my favorite. I know some pretty amazing people that would turn this list upside down. I’m just saying that if you value my opinion (which I hope you do) you’ll know what places to check out before going to the others.
